Afternoon tea with friends, Tuesday 23rd July

We had invited some friends for afternoon tea so I needed to do a bit of baking to put on a 'spread'. I made a Fruit and Nut loaf cake using a Waitrose recipe and Choc chip and nut cookies also using a Waitrose recipe card. To add a savoury note I made sausage rolls using a recipe that I found on the jusrol website. I used a sheet of jusrol puffed pastry which was filled with sausage meat mixed with red onion marmalade. Before baking the sausage rolls were glazed with an egg yolk and milk mixture and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Very tasty sausage rolls. The final element was a few slices of coffee and walnut sponge. We had an enjoyable afternoon, catching-up eating and drinking.
