Banstead Horticultural Society - Spring Show entries - Saturday 12th April

This is the first show of the year and I decided to enter a few of the classes; A chocolate sponge cake which I decorated for Easter, A home made Easter card and A Seasonal craft item. The craft item was a knitted Easter bonnet chocolate orange cover. A good result for me, 1st for the Easter card and Seasonal craft item which was also awarded a blue ribbon for outstanding exhibit and a 3rd for the chocolate sponge cake. The sponge was made using the Delia Smith all in one method, I made a chocolate buttercream to fill and top the cake and added some Easter themed sugar paste decorations which I had painted along with Cadbury mini eggs. It's a very light and tasty cake so a win win situation.
