I was helping with the refreshments at the Christmas Fayre and as my contribution I made a coffee cake, portioned into 24 pieces, decorated with coffee buttercream, chocolate covered coffee beans, chocolate vermicelli and bronze crunch. I also made sugar cookies cut and decorated in the shape of a Christmas gnome. Both proved to be very successful with the punters. My cake table was heaving with rock cakes, lemon butterfly cakes, a Christmas cake, malt loaf, gingerbread loaf, honey loaf cake and a coffee and cardamon loaf. The Fayre was a success raising in excess of £1000 to be split between The Children's Society and St Peter's Church.
