Lest we Forget - Remembrance cake for the Bus Stop Cafe, Woodmansterne - Thursday 9th November

I made a Mary Berry White Chocolate and dried Raspberry traybake cake which I glazed with Bonne Maman Raspberry conserve, added a sheet of white fondant icing (Sainsbury's pre-rolled) and then decorated the top with Icing poppies - made using a Patchwork cutter, the words 'Lest we forget' which were cut from icing and dusted with gold and finally a cross cut from icing using a Patchwork cutter and dusted with gold. I piped buttercream rosettes around the top and the bottom of the cake and used Red M&Ms and Red Choco balls to finish off the decorations. I took the cake to the local church cafe (which I have mentioned on this blog many times) the Bus Stop Cafe this morning to share with the regulars - many very kindly donated to the Royal British Legion when they took a piece of cake. The cake was appreciated by all. Very pleased.
