Another charity bake, I made vanilla sugar cookies and choc chip cookies both of which I decorated with a Poppy theme. The sugar cookies were made using the no-spread recipe, and the biscuit dough was cut with a simple poppy cutter. I then made red sugar paste toppers which were embossed and the centre painted black. The toppers were 'glued' to the biscuits with lemon curd. I put the biscuits into individual bags with a red gingham greaseproof paper backing. The choc chip cookies were made using a Jane's Patisserie recipe. I used white choc chips and Red and Green M&Ms. The cookies when cooled were drizzled with white chocolate, dusted with red sparkle sugar and decorated with a small sugarpaste poppy. These cookies were also packaged in individual bags with a red poppy liner. Really pleased with the finished result, all of the biscuits sold which was a good result and provided a bit more cash for the local branch of the British Legion.
