I was asked to make a batch of birthday cupcakes, the chosen flavours were coffee and salted caramel. I used recipes from Jane's Patisserie for the sponge and buttercream. I made Happy Birthday toppers using LissieLou embossers. I decorated the coffee cupcakes with gold dusted walnuts, chocolate covered coffee beans and chocolatey strands. The salted caramel cupcakes were drizzled with Bournville chocolate and decorated with bronze crunch, honeycomb nibs, fudge chunks and chocolate curls. I then spritzed the cakes with gold dust and displayed them in brown and gold tulip cases. They looked just the job.
