I was helping at the Christmas Fair at my local Church today. I spent yesterday doing some baking to add to the cake refreshment stall which I was running. My contribution was a batch of sugar cookies decorated with sugarpaste santa and snowmen toppers (I used Combocutters to make the designs). I painted the sugarpaste toppers with glitter dust and coloured sugar paste. I made a batch of Christmas sprinkle cookies, a recipe I found on the Jane's patisserie website. The cookies contain white chocolate chips, green M&Ms and Dr Oetker Christmas choc chip sprinkle mix containing red and green chocolate beans and green sprinkles. I wrapped the cookies with red and green gingham waxed paper to add to the Christmas theme. Finally I made a gluten free sticky toffee cake, topped with custard flavoured icing and decorated with M&Ms. This cake is one of my favourite recipes from The Gluten Free Alchemist website. My other contribution to the Fair was a dozen knitted Christmas gnomes to hang on the tree which contain a hidden chocolate. We've had a busy event from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm today, I will be interested to hear how much money was raised, the money is going to be divided between the Church and The Children's Society.
