Easter Tea - Orange Drizzle Loaf cake - Monday 1st April 2024

I made a lovely Orange drizzle loaf cake decorated with spring flowers for tea planned with friends over the Easter holiday. I found the recipe on The GF Alchemist website, highly recommended for the selection of recipes and also the really detailed step by step instructions. I had GF flour, ground almonds, orange extract and oranges in my store cupboard so no extra purchases and of course I had a few Easter flower decorations left over from the other Easter baking that I have been doing. The cakes uses orange zest and extract mixed with caster sugar in the cake batter, an orange drizzle to soak the cake when it is just out of the oven and finally an orange glace icing to drizzle over the cooled cake, the triple hit of orange flavour results in a lovely citrus taste.
