Hen party cake and cupcakes, 2nd October

I had an order to make cupcakes and a large cutting cake for a Hen party weekend away. Having previously made the engagement cupcakes I knew that the colour theme needed to be black and white(cream) but I also added in some red and gold highlights. I made my go to vanilla traybake cake which I glazed with raspberry conserve and then added a sheet of ready rolled fondant icing. I gave the sides of the cake the 'naked' treatment with a hint of vanilla buttercream. I then piped the top of the cake with vanilla buttercream. I used a sugarpaste topper, some boutique sprinkles and black and gold choco balls along with white chocolate decorations that I had made and dusted with gold. I piped rosettes around the bottom of the cake and added the same decorations.

I used the Jane's patisserie vanilla cupcake recipe. After baking I filled the cupcakes with raspberry conserve, topped with vanilla buttercream and finished them with sugarpaste toppers. I made the toppers using LissieLou embossers and cutters and some of the many moulds that I have, to fit in with the theme.

The client was really happy when she collected her order ready for the Hen weekend away.
